Since most of the people depend on trains for their travel, there is always a huge rush of passengers on the trains, no matter what time of the year it is. If all the seats are filled up, you may be put on RAC or Waiting List. If the ticket is in RAC, you can travel in a reserved coach because a seat is available to you. But you may or may not get a berth. So, check the seat availability before you book a ticket, and get a confirmed ticket to travel.
